All roads and flights lead to New Orleans and then to Patterson, LA. Our family members came from towns in Louisiana and various states as far West as Cali, TX and from the Midwest including MI and IL. They traveled from the North East including states such as NJ and PA. And, from the Southeast such as GA, and FL to the place where our great family involuntarily settled. Our family was forced to come to the “so called new world” from the shores of West Africa via the "Middle Passage". The Middle Passage was the name of the overseas voyage or migration pattern. They were forced into slavery and worked on plantations that grew commodities such as sugar, cotton, and tobacco. They involuntarily ended up in Pattersonville, LA now called Patterson, or P-Town.
We can trace our Elmore lineage or pedigree back currently to Samuel & Chaney Elmore who were born in 1798 and 1800, respectively per 1870 census records. Their names are all proudly listed on our family logo and on our step and repeat banner. These are people you should have knowledge of.
